Simon is such a lap boy! He does this most mornings now that I'm not going to class every day. The moment I plop into the rocking chair to job-search, he sniffs at me until I move my laptop and then jumps up and does this (forgive the sideways iPad-video):
His other favorite time to jump in my lap is... when I'm sitting on the toilet. There are no pictures of that for obvious reasons (though we might have to stage one just to show how cute it is!)
Today a ladybug got into the house and was creeping around on the wall, making River go into huntress mode. Then there were moths at the window teasing Simon, and everybody was in a bug-hunting stupor.
This is the Instragram photo of Simon staring at the ladybug:
Here's both of them trying to telepathically make the ladybug fall off the wall so they could play with it:
The cats have been doing the "locomoting floompen" for as long as we've had them, but I finally got it on video! It happens sometimes in a few of the previous videos, but this is a nice example of how River pulls herself along on the carpet while she is floomped.
Both cats were lazily dealing with how hot it was on this particular day.
River gets the morning sillies, playing and jumping around with the crocheted ball from Auntie Erin! Then both cats demonstrate their tendency to think that any time anyone walks into the kitchen it's to get kitty treats...
Can't believe I hadn't posted this yet! It's from early July. I finished editing it with that swath of other videos, but then had to do homework and forgot to put it on YouTube.
